// 5 examples of good typography//

  1. this is a page out of the new Chickpea Magazine. The entire first issue is sophisticatedly designed but still very playful. I usually get bothered when people use typewriter fonts because it often comes across like a visual cliche of sorts, but i think that in this case it works because it’s dealing with a recipe. I’m also a fan of the headline font; bubble letters!!
  2. custom logo for Quite Nice Studios, by Working Format. Playful, curly serifs are very lovely. I love that each line is connected to a letter, but doesn’t come across this way right off the bat.
  3. James Kape’s personal branding. I love how he mixes a pretty generic sans-serif for the address, etc, and a more handwright-y Display font for his name.
  4.      i think combining typefaces is an artform. How do you ensure that it won’t become chaotic looking? This graphic for some random band is real nice.
  5. don’t know if this exactly counts as a font since each letter was probably drawn individually… but i love how the fonts reflect the content of the book and the philosophy behind the author. The letters in Foer’s name are sprouting leaves, seeming to suggest a vegetarian rather than carnivorous lifestyle, as compared to the furry type of the book’s title.
